I hiked from Amicalola Falls State Park through the Georgia section of the trail to Winding Stair Gap near Franklin, N.C. 9/29/2016 to 10/13/2016. This was about a week before massive wildfires swept through this section of the trail. What was supposed to be my shakedown hike turned out to be counted toward my completion of the trail. Some of these sections I have done multiple times and expect I will do them again. I love the Georgia AT!
